The Tyrrhenian Fortnight
Twelve days for two, with the middle week left empty on purpose
The shape of it
The honeymoon version of the Aeolian week: fewer moves, later mornings, a private boat on call, and no schedule in the middle.
Written for two people who have just spent a year organising something and would like not to organise anything for a fortnight.
Three bases in twelve days, two of which you stay at for four nights. One arranged thing in the first week, one in the last, and a deliberately empty middle where a boat is available whenever you want it and nothing is booked.
Everything that can be private is private: the transfers, the boat, the table at the far end of the terrace. What cannot be — the island itself in the first week of September — we schedule around rather than pretend about.

Who plans this journey
Elena Fioravanti
Founder, Mediterranean · planning since 2011
Elena ran a fourteen-room hotel on Salina until 2011, which is where most of the Aeolian network came from: the skippers, the caper growers, the two families whose houses we still use in August.
She plans the Italian journeys herself and will argue with you about the order of the islands. She is usually right, and she will tell you when she is not sure.
Known for: Getting travellers onto Alicudi and Filicudi in the first week of September, when the boats are full and the beds are not for sale.
