Adventure
Further out, with a margin built in
Sailing, ski touring, multi-day traverses and cold water. Properly equipped, properly guided, and planned with contingency rather than optimism.
How we plan it
The objective is a hope, not a promise
On a ski-touring week the guides decide the objective at breakfast, every day, from the snowpack and the forecast. On the altiplano the geyser field happens on day seven or it does not happen. In Lofoten half the plan will move.
We would rather say that in advance than sell you a guarantee and then explain it away. Every journey on this page has a written alternative for the days most likely to change.
For the harder trips we have a fitness and experience conversation before we confirm, and we will turn a booking down rather than have someone have a bad week.

Altitude, specifically
Sequence beats supplements
Our altiplano trips put two easy days below 2,500 metres before anything else, and a night sleeping at 3,500 before the high day. It costs two days. In return you are still enjoying yourself at four thousand metres on day seven, which is the entire reason to go.
