The shape of it
The same conservancies, restructured for families: tracking on foot, camel walks, a night in a fly camp, and no six-hour drives.
Most family safaris are an adult safari with children added. This is built the other way round: short activities, a lot of tracking, a swimming option every afternoon, and dinner at a time children can manage.
The house on the escarpment takes families well and has a rock pool. The fly-camp night — one night, under canvas, with a fire — is reliably the thing children talk about for years afterwards.
James will ask the ages of your children before he quotes, because it changes the itinerary substantially. Under six is a different trip, and he will tell you honestly whether to wait.
