Malvasia harvest on Salina
Pick with the family that has worked these terraces for four generations, then eat with them.
Salina's malvasia is dried in the sun on cane racks before pressing, which is why it tastes the way it does and why the harvest is done by hand in the first half of September.
You start at half past six, because by ten it is too hot to be on the terraces. You will not be much use, which everyone understands. Lunch is under the pergola afterwards and runs until about four.
